Program Highlights
• Immersive exploration of Indian art, architecture, design, and place.
• Delhi: historic layers, modern and post-independence architecture, contemporary art and design practices.
• Agra: Taj Mahal and Fatehpur Sikri, with attention to Mughal architecture, material, geometry, craft, landscape, and monumentality.
• Chandigarh: Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, modernist planning, architecture, and post-independence urbanism.
• Dharampur and Kasauli: hill architecture, landscape, colonial heritage, and slower forms of observation.
• Site-based architectural and urban explorations.
• Visits to selected studios, institutions, galleries, and cultural spaces.
• Conversations and encounters with architects, designers, artists, researchers, and educators.
• Drawing, documentation, and observation exercises.
• Workshops and discussions connecting historical and contemporary design practices.
• Final reflection and presentation session.
Choose Your Thematic Strand
Strand 1 — Architecture, Urbanism & Heritage
Explore India through architecture, cities, heritage, modernism, public spaces, and landscapes—from historic Delhi and Mughal Agra to Chandigarh’s post-independence modernism and the architecture of the Himalayan foothills.
Strand 2 — Art, Design, Craft & Cultural Practice
Explore India through art, design, craft, material culture, visual traditions, and contemporary creative practices, examining how objects, making, and cultural practices shape identity and place
Intended Participants
Architecture, art, and design students, recent graduates, young professionals, artists, architects, designers, and researchers from Europe and internationally. People from other disciplines are backgrounds are also welcomes to apply.
Working Program Route
Delhi remains the principal arrival and departure base. Agra is integrated as a focused excursion from Delhi, after which the group continues to Chandigarh. Dharampur and Kasauli are explored as a hill-country excursion from Chandigarh before the group returns to Delhi.
Payment / Reservation
A non-refundable reservation fee of €150 to shall be applicable to confirm a selected participant's place and shall be deducted from the total program fee. This deposit must be paid by the deadline communicated to you.
Expression of Interest deadline: 30 October 2026. Applicants should indicate their preferred date option(s) and thematic strand, and may select one or both dates.
Each option will be confirmed with a minimum of 15 students. In case the program is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, the participants will be given full refund of the €150 deposit.
Fee
€1,290 — Program Fee + internal travel
Includes the academic program, workshops, visits, and program-related travel within India. Accommodation is not included. International airfare, visa, insurance, and most personal meals are excluded.
€1,690 — Program Fee + Accommodation and internal travel
Includes the full program, program-related travel within India, and accommodation. International airfare, visa, insurance, and most personal meals are excluded.
Participants may choose either of two payment options: program fee with internal travel only, or program fee plus internal travel and accommodation.
