Program Positioning
An international design and architecture immersion connecting architecture, the Bauhaus, design, museums, urban culture, workshops, photography, and creative practice. The program brings together shared travel and principal site visits in cooperation with multiple institutions and museums.
Choose Your Thematic Strand
Strand 1 — Architecture & the Built Environment
For students in architecture, urban design, planning, interior architecture, landscape architecture, heritage, and related built-environment disciplines.
Strand 2 — Design, Culture & Creative Practice
For students and design enthusiasts interested in design, visual culture, museums, photography, material culture, creative thinking, and the Bauhaus.
Program Highlights
• Leipzig: city, culture, design, architectural layers, objects, exhibitions, and visual culture.
• Berlin: modernism, objects, design culture, and the relationship between design reform and the modern city.
• Dessau: Bauhaus Building, Bauhaus Museum Dessau, materials, experimentation, housing, everyday life, and Bauhaus legacy.
• Weimar: Bauhaus origins, Bauhaus Walk, Gropius Room, Bauhaus Museum Weimar, Haus Am Horn, and workshop-based visual responses.
• Two thematic strands with shared principal visits and differentiated observation prompts, exercises, and discussion themes.
• Independent observation through sketching, photography, writing, visual mapping, collage, or other appropriate media.
• A dedicated workshop connecting Weimar and Dessau and rethinking the Bauhaus 100 years later.
• Final reflection, individual presentations, and certificate distribution.
Bauhaus Centenary Context
The program is positioned within the centenary moment of Bauhaus Dessau, connecting the Bauhaus origins in Weimar with its transformation in Dessau. The program examines architecture, design, objects, housing, museums, public space, and creative practice through one integrated journey.
Intended Participants
Architecture and built-environment students; design and creative-practice students; artists; photographers; humanities students; researchers; and independent design enthusiasts. The program is designed for both specialist and interdisciplinary audiences.
Date Options
• Option 1 — 8–22 December 2026 | Pre-Christmas Winter Cohort | Experience Germany during the Advent and Christmas season.
• Option 2 — 6–20 January 2027 | January Winter Cohort | Experience Germany's winter season.
• Participants may select one or both date options.
Application & Reservation
Expression of Interest deadline: 30 September 2026. Applicants should indicate their preferred date option(s) and thematic strand, and may select one or both dates.
Reservation deposit (non-refundable): €150 to hold your spot. This non-refundable deposit shall be deducted from the total program fee and must be paid by the deadline communicated to you.
Each option will be confirmed with a minimum of 15 students. In case the program is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, the participants will be given full refund of the €150 deposit.
Fee
€990 — Program Fee
Includes the academic program, workshops, museum visits. Accommodation and travel are not included. International airfare, visa, insurance, and most personal meals are also excluded.
€1,790 — Program Fee + Internal travel and Accommodation
Includes the full program, program-related travel besides accommodation. International airfare, visa, insurance, and most personal meals are excluded.
Students may choose either of two payment options: program fee only, or program fee plus internal travel and accommodation.

The options will only be confirmed with a minimum of 15 students, and that a €150 deposit is required to hold a confirmed spot. Shortlisted candidates shall receive further data for the registration process.
