Brief- Venture into the realm of architectural criticism and journalism through this value-packed 6-day online live workshop. The course covers the interpretation of design, Preparation for Viva Voce, the Need and Importance of architectural journalism, the different forms of creative writing, and critical appreciation of buildings.
Course chapters
Module 1: Design Interpretation
The art of conveyance of the basic ideology and theme behind the development of a design form, in an eloquent manner.
Module 2: Architectural Vocabulary
How to generate strong imagery of the work being described by quoting structural elements, aesthetic outlook, and visual impressions.
Module 3: Need & Importance of Architectural Journalism
The practice of documenting and writing about architecture and design is directed towards both professionals in the field and the common people.
Module 4: Niche of Creative Writing
Methods to evoke emotion in a reader by communicating a theme.
Module 5: Critical Appreciation of a Structure
How to examine and evaluate an architectural work from a discerning point of view, with knowledge well enough to critically appreciate.
Module 6: Technical Writing & Referencing your Ideas
How to provide complex information to readers in a way that they can understand and apply. Learning to cite the source, giving credit to the author, and enabling the reader to locate the resources.

About the Instructor
Pappal Suneja is a design researcher and an architect. He is the founder and curator of the Architectural Journalism & Criticism Organization and a Ph.D. Scholar at Bauhaus University, Weimar, Germany. He is a guest lecturer at the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences and an international correspondent of the ADA Magazine.
He has been an active contributor to Architectural Journalism with more than 150 publications and five books related to Architecture & Design to his credit to date.
